Mos Eisley: The Mississippi of Outer Space

A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… RACISM was alive and well!

I’m on record for how I hold Han Solo in less than complimentary esteem. I find him to be a bum, a fraud, and dare I say, just like his treacherous girlfriend, a bit of a racist too!

“Don’t you think that’s a little harsh?”

Harsh?! Hardly! Here we have an interplanetary port, where all manner of creatures gather to socialize and conduct business. But what is the one place our “heroes” decide to frequent? The one with an admittance policy that would make Grand Moff Bull Conner proud.

No droids?! Considering who else was in there, that’s sure an arbitrary place to draw the line!

It’s disgusting. And I bet all these hairy, bug-eyed tentacled freaks are the type to think that the droids are taking all the jobs too.

“Obviously a misunderstood statement by the proprietor. Clearly he realized that no droid would actually drink anything and just take up space from paying customers. He was only trying to increase his profit, but you come along and malign the small business man. Braniff, you are no friend to capitalism!”

I tell you who I’m not a friend of, Dave, and that’s racism, whether it be home, abroad, or in a galaxy far far away! If they really needed a planet to test the Death Star laser on, the Empire could have just used Tantooine. Who would miss it?
