With the relative success of Godzilla: King of the Monsters at the box office, Rodan and Mothra contemplate the next step in their careers and making the jump to Marvel…
Who is bold enough to tell a 40,000 ton monster how to make a film franchise?
With the relative success of Godzilla: King of the Monsters, fan favorite Titans Rodan and Mothra think they’ve found where the real money is — Marvel Studios! Join us for the second part of our sit-down with these two legendary Titans of the silver screen, as we discuss their intentions to take their place among the likes of Captain America, Thor, and Rocket Racoon.
Last time we learned about Mothra’s hopes and dreams. Now onto you Rodan, what Marvel Cinematic Universe role have you auditioned for?
“Well my friends, you’re looking at the future star of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3!”“Didn’t the director get fired from that?”“He did, but he’s back now! He’s taking a break to work on another superhero movie for Warner Bros.”“Godzilla help him.”“But after that $#!? is done, it’s on to me and starring in this one! And unlike SOME movies out there, this one actually HAS a script for it.”“Is there any room in the script for something like you?”“…Well, not yet. But I came across my illustrious future director on his way to our old studio and shared my idea of what my role could be! And it’s awesome, it’s spectacular, and it doesn’t have any jokes about me having sex with King Ghidorah!”“You mean King Gonorrhea? Oh, that will NEVER get old!”“Haha… True that Mothie! ‘Look out, up in the sky, here comes King Gonorrhea!’”“Oh, that’s a classic Dan-O! Thanks Dougherty!”
Yes, that’s very funny and all. Anyway, can we get back to you explaining your role Rodan?
“Oh yea, right. Anyway, the Guardians are lost out in space! Rocket and Groot are separated from the team, and they know they’re the only ones who can come in and save the day! So they look up in the sky, they see none other than the glorious ME coming in to save them! And then they ride me to the rest of the Guardians, and I help everyone out in the final battle! WITHOUT getting stabbed in the shoulder this time!”“So it’s more or less the role I described, only the characters haven’t lost their powers this time.”“…Well now that you mention it, I see some things in common.”“And hold on, are you not mostly made from fire? And you have fire and ashes coming off your wings?”“Yeah, both are true.”“And isn’t Groot a talking tree? Made out of, you know, wood?”“Yeah, what’s your point?”“Well, aren’t you wondering about the fact that you could potentially set him on fire and burn him up before he even MAKES it to the final battle?”“No %&<$ing way! Groot will have some way to prevent that from happening! Plus, what was more awesome in Godzilla: King of the Monsters than MY scenes? Mid-air wing clap, eating the ejecting pilot, corkscrews! That would look fantastic in space!”“You think that would work as well in space?”“Well, at least I’ve been up there, when I helped Godzilla try to fight King Gonor- Sorry, King GHIDORAH, out on Planet Zero! What have YOU done out in space?”“Well, at least in the story I described, my hero doesn’t potentially get killed as soon as she tries to ride me.”“Why the %&<$ would she ride a giant butterfly anyway?”“For the last freaking time Rodan, I’m a MOTH!”
Hold up, hold up! This was meant to be a more civilized debate here! meaning we can have a calm discussion on this.
“I will admit, it started off like that.”
Well, what do you Titans normally do when you don’t agree about something.
“…We fight. Big time.”
And is there any way we can do that where that DOESN’T happen?
“…I would love to. But I guess Rodan and I will have to think this one over.”“Mothra’s right. Let’s put this on the back burner for now before this gets too wild.”
